In Tianna Negre We are celebrating a very special date: Ses Nines meets 20 yearsTwo decades have passed since this wine was born, practically at the same time as the winery was taking its first steps. Today, Ses Nines It is much more than one of our most beloved wines: it is an essential part of our history and our identity as a project.
Just like a person, a winery grows, learns, and evolves. The first few years require intensive care; then comes a stage of transformation, challenges, and decisions; and finally, maturity emerges, when its personality solidifies. In these 20 years, Ses Nines It has grown up alongside us and has helped us understand who we are and where we want to go.
Who is the girl on the label?
The answer is Antonia GarauKnown as “Sa Madona” of the Morey Garau family. She was, in many ways, the origin of everything.
In 2004, Antonia launched the project of Ses Nines thanks to a vineyard inherited from his family: an estate that everyone knows as Ca'l TioThe name doesn't come from a direct uncle of Antonia's, but from her great-great-uncle, who left the property upon his death without heirs. That vineyard, with Manto Negro as its centerpiece, allowed for the production of the first vintage of Ses Nines and marked the starting point of the winery.
The photograph on the label is a charming image of Antonia as a child, a look that conveys roots, simplicity, and memories. It's not a new image—Antonia has always been the essence of Ses Nines—, but on this 20th anniversary it acquires a very special value: it is a tribute to the woman whose history, work and legacy made possible the birth of the house's most emblematic wine.
Quality, identity and a style true to itself
In the vineyard, Ses Nines It stems from controlled yields and increasingly respectful viticulture, seeking concentration, balance, and elegance even in the context of climate change. In the winery, the process focuses on delicately complementing the wine, preserving its style and its youthful, light, and predominantly indigenous character.
Today, looking back fills us with pride. Ses Nines It's part of the journey we've taken, of who we are, and of what we aspire to continue building. We celebrate these 20 years with gratitude and excitement for everything that's yet to come.
